Septic Work That Actually Accounts for West Texas Ground
Odessa Septic Services handles tank pumping, inspections, drain field repair, and new installations across seven Permian Basin counties. We work with caliche, not around it, and we tell you what’s actually going on with your system before we quote anything.

Septic Services for Every Stage of Ownership
From routine pumping to full installs, we cover the six services West Texas properties actually need.
Septic Tank Pumping
Scale buildup happens faster in hard water areas fed by the Pecos Valley and Edwards-Trinity aquifers. We check for that when we pump, not just the sludge level.
Septic Inspections
Real estate deals in this market move fast during an oil upswing. We turn around written inspection reports quickly enough to keep a closing on schedule.
Septic Cleaning & Maintenance
A tank that’s never been fully cleaned builds a crust layer pumping alone won’t touch. We handle the deeper job when a system needs more than a routine pump-out.
Drain Field Services
Where the caliche layer sits close to the surface, a standard drain field can struggle. We diagnose the actual cause before recommending a fix.
Grease Trap Cleaning
Odessa and Midland have a steady churn of oilfield-adjacent restaurants and man-camp kitchens. We keep traps on a schedule that holds up to code review.
Septic System Installation
New construction here often means starting from raw caliche ground. We handle the site evaluation and permitting alongside the actual install.
We Dig in Caliche Every Week — Not Occasionally
Most of West Texas has a thin band of sandy loam over calcified caliche that can run thirty-plus feet deep. Soft caliche digs fine. Cemented caliche fights back, and a crew that hasn’t priced that difference into their bid usually ends up asking for more money mid-job. We don’t.
Standard gravity drain fields work on plenty of lots around Odessa and Midland. On the ones where the caliche won’t let water percolate the way it needs to, we spec a soil substitution field or an aerobic treatment unit with a spray field instead — whichever the site evaluation actually supports.
You get a quote before we touch anything, and if the site turns out to need something different once we’re digging, we stop and talk to you first. No surprise line items on the invoice.

What Homeowners Are Saying
Bought a place out in West Odessa and had no idea what I was dealing with underground. They walked me through the whole system before pumping anything and didn’t try to sell me on a repair I didn’t need.
West Odessa, TX
Needed a real estate inspection turned around in three days because the buyer’s lender was breathing down our necks. Got the report back in two.
Midland, TX
Drain field was failing and two other companies just wanted to replace the whole thing. These guys dug a test hole first and found it was a clogged distribution box, not the field. Saved us thousands.
Gardendale, TX
Quick Answers Before You Call
Every 3 to 5 years is the standard guidance for an average household, but hard water from local groundwater and heavier household use can shorten that window. We’ll give you a realistic number based on your tank size and household after the first pump-out.
Slow drains throughout the house, gurgling in the plumbing, a soggy or unusually green patch over the drain field, or sewage odor near the tank lid are the ones we hear about most. Any of those is worth a call before it turns into a backup.
Wipes of any kind (even ones labeled flushable), grease, coffee grounds, cat litter, and harsh chemical drain cleaners are the biggest offenders. Bleach in small laundry-level amounts is fine, but pouring it straight down a drain in quantity kills off the bacteria your tank depends on.
We check tank condition, sludge and scum layer depth, baffle condition, the distribution box, and drain field performance, then put it all in a written report. For real estate transactions, that report is usually what the buyer’s lender or agent is asking for.
A routine pump-out usually runs 30 to 60 minutes once the crew is on site. Inspections take a bit longer since we’re documenting as we go. Installations and drain field repairs vary a lot based on soil conditions, which we’ll explain during the quote.
Yes — grease trap service for restaurants, septic systems for man-camp housing, and larger commercial installs are all work we do regularly given how much of this economy runs on oil and gas.
